Setting: a “super church”

New pastor (few months there) is holding a service for homeless people before the regular service. He is keeping it a secret from the board and from the other church members. He gives great sermons to them, personal and relevant. There are about 20-30 who come regularly! He tells them about where they can get their next meal and brings tangible items for some. He starts to usher them out the back of the church so they aren’t seen by the congregation.

One homeless man, Mark, reminds the pastor not to define him by his homelessness… “I am Mark, I’m a teacher, I teach.”
